What is Operation Christmas Child?
Operation Christmas Child is a hands-on way for Canadians to bless struggling children in the developing world by filling shoeboxes with toys, hygiene items, school supplies, and other items. They collect the boxes and distribute them in the name of Jesus Christ to children living in desperate situations.
For more information, please visit the Samaritan's Purse website.
We can still fill shoeboxes!
You can still pack shoeboxes this year. There are a variety of ways to do this:
1) Pack a box online.
Click the button below to visit the Samaritan's Purse website. You will be given a variety of shopping options to pack a personalized box.
2) Pack your own box at home.
We will have a bin of empty shoeboxes in the carport at the church, starting on Sunday, October 4. Once you fill your box you can drop it off at the church. Please drop it in the bin at the door during office hours which are Monday to Thursday from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm.
3) Donate items or money and the youth will pack boxes on your behalf.
Drop off items in a bin under the carport at church or make a donation marked “Shoeboxes” with your regular offering. We will use the money to cover postage costs or buy extra items.
Please see visit the Samaritan’s Purse website for ideas about what to purchase. There will not be shopping lists provided this year. Any extra items that do not go into the shoeboxes will be donated to the Operation Christmas Child Processing plant where they will make use of our leftover items.
All donated items must be at the church by Sunday November 8. All packed shoeboxes that you made at home must be at the church by Thursday November 12 at 1:00 p.m.
Please join us as we find great joy in giving!
Your gifts go to underprivileged children all over the world who wouldn’t otherwise get a gift this Christmas.
