Helping YOU Navigate LifePart 1: Living in a Cancel Culture

Worship: Listen to a Worship song (If you need suggestions you can use one from the YouTube Playlist for this week) or express something that you are thankful to God for.

Welcome: What do you think makes life the most complicated?

Word: Read Ephesians 4:29

Pastor John mentioned a trend in society called “Cancel Culture”. Cancel culture refers to the popular practice of withdrawing support for (canceling) public figures and companies after they have done or said something considered objectionable or offensive (Particularly on social media.) Can you think of some examples of this?

What are the positive and negative trends of this issue?

The Bible speaks extensively about the power of people’s words.  Our scripture talks about not letting “unwholesome” words come from our mouths.  What are some examples of ways we let this happen?  How does social media play into this?

Why is it important to make sure our words are positive and encouraging, particularly during this time? What can we do to make sure our words benefit others and help build them up?

What is something you need to apply from this message?

Witness:  Continue to pray for the people that you want to see come into a relationship with Christ. What are some practical ways that you can show the love of Christ to your family, co-workers, and neighbours, particularly in light of the COVID 19 pandemic?

Pray for these people and each other.
