Word
- What are you earliest reconciliations of Easter as a kid?
- Read Ephesians 2:1-10
- How does Paul explain being dead in our sins in verses 1-3? What do each of the descriptive phrases explain about our past condition?
- The ultimate end is that we are considered “children of wrath.” What does that mean? Is this concept difficult to talk about in our modern society?
- What remedy do verses 4-6 give us for being dead in sin?
- What can we do to keep sin from influencing our lives?
- What do they verses tell us about God? Explain.
- What do the verses implicitly say about what God saw in us that made us ‘worth’ saving? What do we ‘contribute’ toward our salvation?
- Read verse 7 and explain it! What should be our response to this?
- Explain the relationship of these words (8-9): Grace, Gift of God, Faith, Not of works.
- In what way should the last phrase of verse 9 be evident in our lives?
- What practical application can you make in response to these verses?
