Welcome

Check In – How is everyone doing (good things, teaching applied, lessons learned, prayers answered)?

Word

  • What are you first memories about communion at church?  What was your tradition growing up?
  • Read: Luke 22:14-20, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
  • Why do you think Jesus wanted to celebrate Passover with His disciples?
  • Jesus is establishing his own ongoing memorial with His disciples.  How would you have felt if you were there?
  • Read John 6:53-55.  How would Jesus’ language in these verses and his conversation at the Last Supper, be hard to understand and be open to misinterpretation?
  • What is the significance of the images Jesus uses? (bread and the cup)
  • Why do you think Jesus wants us to actively participate?
  • How can we avoid letting the Lord’s supper become repetitive and robotic.
  • What can we do to make it a more meaningful?
  • How should the accomplishment of the cross effect our daily lives?
  • What should you apply from this lesson?
