Word
- Have you ever worn cross jewelry?
- Read 1 Peter 2:24-25
- The scripture tells us that we are to die to sin. Why do you think it is more difficult to talk about sin in our society?
- What does it mean to say we are “dead to sin”?
- What do you think of Karl Olsson’s quote on sin, ““When we don’t see the gravity of our sin, we won’t be reliant upon God for the grace of sanctification and transformation and holiness won’t be our aim in life.”
- Read Romans 6:1-2. What do you we learn about sin and the forgiveness and grace of God in this verse?
- Read Luke14:27, Luke 9:23, Matthew 10:38. What does it mean to “Take up your cross”?
- What are some practical ways we can live out this reality of being “dead to sin”?
