Scripture: 1 Peter 1:6-9

Worship

Listen to a Worship song (If you need suggestions, you can use one from the YouTube Playlist for this week) or express something that you are thankful to God for.

Welcome

Check In – How is everyone doing (good things, teaching applied, lessons learned, prayers answered.)

Word

  • What was the best day of your life?
  • What event in your life has been the most faith disturbing?
  • Pastor John stated that “life is lived between the ideals of God and the reality of our circumstances.”  What did he mean by that?”
  • Why is it important for us to recognize the “Alwaysness” of God (that he is always for you, in you, with you, always here, working, and faithful)
  • Read 1 Peter 1:6-9
  • Peter encourages people to rejoice during difficulty. (Check out James 1:2-4, it teaches the same thing) Why is this difficult?  Why is it important?
  • According to Peter and James what is the purpose of trials and suffering?
  • In 1 Peter 1:8-9 what is the ultimate outcome of this process?
  • What is a practical application from this teaching for your life?

Witness

Ask God to give you the names of three individuals, locally, that are not following Jesus that you want to commit to pray for and have opportunities to be able to share Jesus with.

Prayer

Pray that God will help you apply this lesson.  Pray for any other requests you have.
