Welcome

Check In – How is everyone doing (good things, teaching applied, lessons learned, prayers answered)?

Word

  • What’s the most complicated thing you have ever assembled?
  • Have you ever thought the Cross seems like a complicated way to save the world?
  • The image of Jesus as a slain lamb is one that comes out of the sacrificial system in the book of Leviticus. Although most people struggle to make sense of this book, what do we learn in Leviticus about God and humanity?  Read Leviticus 4:32-35 and Leviticus 17:11 What do these verses teach us about the sacrificial system?
  • Read 1 Peter 1:19, 1 Corinthians 5:7, John 1:29.  How do these verses present Jesus? Why is that important?
  • Read Isaiah 53
  • These words were written 700 years before Christ came to earth.  The first verse starts with a question, “Who has believed our message?” Why do you think this generation has struggled with belief in God?
  • What sheep imagery appears in these verses?  What do we learn from it?
  • What in the other imagery of Jesus, as the suffering servant, stands out to you? Why?
  • Do you think the healing mentioned is physical or spiritual or both?
  • What can you apply from this lesson?
