YFC Nipissing Update – June 2022

Hello everyone. Aimée here.

Over the past year I have been amazed at the journey the Lord has lead us on in laying a foundation of support, volunteers, and ministry development within Nipissing Youth for Christ. Since the launch of regular ministry in January 2022, we have been delighted to see the involvement and growth in each ministry.  We are so excited with the increase in each of the ministries, Events, Serve and Equip. This has been deeply encouraging to us as we endeavour to reach young people in our community with the Gospel of Christ.

Over the next few months, Nipissing Youth for Christ board and volunteer team will be taking some time to reflect on where we have come to in this foundation building phase of ministry. At the end of June, Rose Jarvis will be stepping away from her role with Nipissing Youth for Christ, and at the end of August, I will be stepping down as Executive Director and will be discerning with the Lord how I might remain involved as we explore a wider team approach to spreading ministry roles. The Lord is at work as both of us lean into the Lord’s leading in our lives. Life is full of seasons and these changes signal an exciting time of new things in the chapter. We lean into that filled with trust in our God for this next season in the work of Nipissing Youth for Christ.

We recognize you, our partners, supporters, prayer warriors, and brothers and sisters in Christ and want to take the time to thank you. We do not underestimate or undervalue your obedience in supporting this work in the way the Lord has directed you to. It is a reminder that each one of us has a unique role to play in the Kingdom work within North Bay, and although it looks different in each of our lives, it is important.

We invite you to pray as the board and the current team of staff and volunteers continue to discern how the Lord would have us continue to reach young people in our community. If you are sensing the Lord stirring in you to join this work, please reach out. Our God is with each one of us in our present moments, leading us to do His will and bring His name glory. Let’s be present, attuned, and obedient to the King.  Many blessings to you all!

Ecclesiates 3:1-8

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace.
