• How good of a swimmer are you?  How good are you at floating?
• How does joy make us buoyant on the spiritual journey?
• Read Proverbs 15:13, 15, 30.
• What do we discover about a joyful heart in these verses?
• Have each person read one of these verses. Colossians 1:12, Philippians 4:4, Psalm 118:24, Nehemiah 8:10, Romans 15:13, John 15:11, 1 Peter 1:8, Psalm 51:12.
• What do we learn about the “joy of the Lord” from these verses?
• How can we choose joy in our daily lives?  What does real joy look like?
• Read James 1:2-3 and Habakkuk 3:17-19
• These verses tell us that we can have joy during negative circumstances.  How can we remain joyful despite what is happening around us?
• What do you need to practically apply from this lesson?

How can a lack of joy effect our message to others?  How is real joy a draw to other people?
